At Barkibu, we know that to use your data, we must have your trust. That is why we apply the strictest privacy criteria and only use your information for described purposes and with respect to your fundamental rights in data protection.
The privacy policy describes the way in which the information is collected, used, processed, and shared in The Barkibu group (“Barkibu”), including Barkibu SL, Barkibu Pets Agencia de Seguros SL, Noma Technologies SL, Barkibu Gmbh (Barkibu DE) and all their subsidiaries.

Barkibu S.L. is a company with tax residence in CL Zapa, 12, 36380 Gondomar, (Pontevedra), Spain. It is registered in the Commercial Chamber’s Register of A Coruña, Volume: 3512 Folio: 135 Section: 8 Sheet: C-51260, and its CIF is B-70407515.
Barkibu Pets Agencia de Seguros SL (ESB88082904), a subsidiary company of Barkibu SL, is authorized to act as an exclusive insurance agency by the DGSFP, with administrative code L0095B88082904. and registered office at Zapa, 12, 36380 Gondomar, Pontevedra.
Barkibu Germany GmbH, a subsidiary company of Barkibu SL, with an address in Rosenthaler Straße 72A, 10119 Berlin is recorded in the broker register as an insurance agent with permission in Section 34d Paragraph 1 GewO ( www.vermittlerregister.info ). The responsible licensing and supervisory authority is the Berlin Chamber of Industry and Commerce, address: Fasanenstr. 85, 10623 Berlin | Internet: https://www.ihk.de/berlin/.
Great Lakes Insurance SE, is the Pet Insurance Insurer of Barkibu Pet insurances, operating under the free provision of services regime, with an address at Königinstraße 107, 80802 Munich, and registered with the DGSFP under no. register L0095.

With regard to the new data protection law, Barkibu S.L. is the "Data Controller" of the personal information we collect. Barkibu S.L. is responsible for deciding how and why we store, collect and process your information.

What information do we collect?
Barkibu S.L. can collect the following information about you:
Information that you voluntarily provide us
Personal information such as name, surname, country and password to access our services.
Contact information such as email, phone number, city and zip code.
Information on interactions with the veterinarian in the form of questions about your pet, votes or recommendations.
Financial information such as payments, historical purchases, name, and credit card number to purchase Barkibu products.
In the case of a user that purchases an insurance, Barkibu can collect data about claims and requests related to the insurance.
If you are a veterinarian who wants to use the website or the company apps as a veterinarian, Barkibu can collect:
Personal information such as name, surname, sex.
Veterinarian information including veterinary school, collegiate number, a brief CV description, profile picture, and information about your clinic.
Information that we collect automatically
Information about the use of the platform as visits and browsing behavior.
Technical information such as IP address, type of device (mobile or PC), browser type and version, operating system, and cookie IDs of the devices you use to access our products.
How do we collect your data?
We collect information through the use of the service via forms, emails and phone calls.
For what reason do we use your data?
Creation of the user profile to access and use of the platform according to the terms and conditions of the service.
To be able to contact you with veterinarian information if you have requested help from a veterinarian.
To send you information about our products if you requested it.
If you consent, we can use your data to send you newsletters or commercial information we think you are interested in.
If you are the owner of a pet policy insurance, we will process the claims and requests related to the insurance for the insurance partner.
In the case of veterinarians
Facilitate pet owners to identify and find a veterinarian.
How long do we use your data?
We will not keep your personal information for longer than strictly necessary to fulfill the purposes for which they are being processed. Depending on the nature and confidentiality of the data, we will determine the appropriate retention time.
How we share your personal information
In general, Barkibu S.L. does not share the personal information of the users with third parties unless it is required by law or it is required for an external provider to guarantee proper behavior of the website and apps.
In case of a user wants to hire an insurance product in our app or Website, Barkibu will share the user’s personal information to Barkibu Pets Agencia de Seguros S.L.U.(for a customer coming from the Spanish Web/App) and Barkibu DE(for a customer coming from the German Web/App), both companies owned by Barkibu S.L. which is in charge of the management of the Barkibu insurances. These will facilitate the process of hiring a policy insurance for the user.
In the case that you gave us consent to receive commercial information, we can share your contact information with our partners.
Barkibu S.L. has a commitment with the data protection and establishes Data Protection Agreements with providers to verify that all of them respect confidentiality and leverage the appropriate security measures. These providers have the obligation to guarantee that the personal data is processed according to the regulations.

How we protect your data
To ensure the correct processing, transfer and storage of information, we use the appropriate data protection technologies and policies. Our security policies are aligned with technologies widely adopted by the community and are regularly reviewed and updated.
The technology of Barkibu products is continuously updated with all new versions of components in which the community detects vulnerabilities.
Appropriate restrictions and measures of access to private information of users are implemented, such as the use of secure technologies such as SSL for data transfer.
We have implemented protocols and procedures to avoid and recover from data breaches.
The personal information is stored isolated from the rest of the services, and the data storage is located in AWS and Heroku in Ireland.
We store and process data only in providers that are compliant with ISO 27002 and SOC certifications. Our software is deployed, implemented, and stored in Heroku and AWS, following all the security guidelines to ensure maximum protection.
All applications keep a log of all accesses and are monitored to detect inappropriate accesses or attacks.
We also follow a backup policy and a user control access policy.
Your rights
By law, you have the right to:
* Request detailed information about your personal data. How we have collected them, how we store them and why we are using them.
* Request access to your data. You can receive a copy of the information stored about you.
* Request rectification or erasure of data. You can request the complete elimination of the information stored about you.
* Oppose the processing of your personal data to perform tasks of profiling and automated decision-making.
* Request limitation of the processing of your personal data. This allows you to request that we suspend the processing of your personal data, for example, if you want us to determine its accuracy or the reason to treat them.
